End of month report for the Six-Figure Euro Engineer Coaching Program
little end-of-month update
The first month of my coaching program is coming to an end.
Here's the report:
1. Two out of three subscribers renewing their subscription for the following month.
2. The one leaving the program seemed happy, but encountered an unexpected opportunity coming from an open-source project they developed that blew up in the past few weeks: they're now talking with investors to fund a company based on it. They said they want to take a pause from the program to see how this startup thing turns out and rejoin in July in case it doesn't work out. I think I managed to support them in the best way I could even in this "edge-case" circumstance.
3. I am gathering feedback from all of them on things they liked about the program and on things they think I could improve. I'm curious about this feedback.
4. One of the subscribers who renewed I think got exceptional value from it. In less than a month, they got a much improved CV and LinkedIn profile, got introduced by me to a company in Zurich to 2x/3x their salary (waiting for following steps), got referred to 3 roles at Google Zurich, and they're in the process of applying with a referral to other promising roles. They're a strong profile. If you're a recruiter, might be wise to reach out!
5. Another subscriber I think also got good value. Again, first step was improving their CV and LinkedIn as well as thinking hard about what strategy to build. They're already Swiss-based and making 6 figures, so in a way they're already doing good. There's still space for improvement both on the salary side and on the career development and satisfaction side. This is a slower process but I'm positive that it's going in the right direction.
6. Another subscriber is joining in June. They have a less strong profile than the first 3 who joined in May. That said, I think they got potential, and I liked their personality as they seemed very humble yet clever. I think it might be one of these cases of people who technically have the necessary talent to make it "big" in tech but are lacking some motivation as well as some strategic knowledge to actually rock it.
7. A few other people applied but then either from my side or their side it didn't work out. This was due to several reasons that varied case by case. Not gonna dive deep into it here. But I think that's fine. Having a good match for the program for me is key as I perceive this program as something result-oriented and therefore I need to perceive a match on a personal level as well as confidence from my side to realistically help them level up. If that's not there, it's a waste of their money to join the program and of my time to coach them.
Looking forward to the next month!
If you're interested in securing a spot in the program, check out this article for a description of the program as well as for the rules to apply. There's 1 spot currently free and another one maybe free (depending on the startup subscriber).
