Euro Top Tech - #13
NEW YEAR BUILD IN PUBLIC UPDATE
Hello friends
Hope you had / are having a good holiday break! ☃️
I managed to close the year making some progress on my 2nd goal for 2026 (more “WLB”), and took almost an entire week, almost completely off. Doing some holiday in Italy, some mountain in Switzerland, then celebrated NYE in Warsaw.
I also quickly rolled-up my sleeves after the holidays and made some progress on the 1st goal for 2026 (increase revenue by 20%) - launching a few things. Which I will tell you about today.
Before we start, check out:
“How much do you need to make to live in Switzerland?”
The first article, went out yesterday, for my new newsletter Remote GOATs.
It features some cool shit:
What will I be working on in 2026?
Is the main topic of today’s article.
The European Engineer Newsletter
As you might have seen, yesterday I launched a new newsletter on Beehiiv: Remote GOATs.
You can check yesterday’s article for the reasons behind that launch.
The European Engineer, the newsletter you’re reading right now, will continue working as expected. And, in particular, you can expect:
Roughly one or two articles per week
Some articles will be thematic about some aspects of tech careers in Europe
Others will be updates on the things I launch and ship (these are the “Euro Top Tech #number update” - basically like the one you’re reading right now)
Euro Top Tech will continue evolving
Right now, it features a lot of free resources:
Like the eurotoptech.com/data page with crowdsourced data from the community about incomes, taxes, living costs, happiness factor of devs in Europe.
Or the blog (with partially refactored articles from theeuropeanengineer.com
And several high-value paid resources:
The job board of top-paying big tech and scale-up jobs in Europe
The job board of high-paying (six figure plus) fully-remote jobs
The career guides to help you land top tech roles
The Discord community to connect with other ambitious devs in Europe and abroad, and get some lightweight help from me
By the end of January, I will probably expand the platform, adding software tools to help you apply the recommendations explained in the guides. This will bring you one step closer to being able to have a similar experience of what my coaching clients have, at a fraction of the price.
Coaching Program
Not much will change. It could be that it will become more complicated to join it.
Because I still prefer to keep it under 5 people per month, and since the results at this point speak for themselves, I expect to have a somewhat full pipeline oftentimes.
But if you’re interested and think you can be a good fit, feel free to apply. Worst case you end up in a waiting list.
Remote Compass
Very early days for this product still.
It’s already quite useful. I use it all the time for myself when I do countries/relocation/setups researches, and it helps me a lot reason about these topics and “model the problem”, bringing order to the chaos.
Immediate improvements will be on the UI/UX side, rather than major functionality changes.
I’ve recently added a couple of new functionalities:
Remote GOATs
The latest addition to the family!
VERY excited about this one.
It’s been in the books for a looong time.
For the ones of you that still remember, I launched something similar over a year ago. It was a group for six-figure fully-remote tech workers sharing intel and connecting.
I shut it down for several reasons.
Now I finally found the right format for me to re-launch it:
Targeted to ANY person earning income online/remotely
Framed as a newsletter first, and community second
“in partnership with” remotecompass.ai
Funnelling readers from X rather than / in addition to LinkedIn
More in detail:
1 is because, in the end, if you’re looking at optimising your life on top of your remote income, it doesn’t really matter where your income comes from: if it’s employment, freelance, business; tech or non-tech, etc.
2 is because I already spend A LOT of time researching these things, and packaging them into useful content. Content that I can easily (at least partially) sell, to the right people who will find it useful. Community is a great addition but selling community for community-sake apparently is a shaky model.
3 is because I already have the AI tool for online/remote setups, so I might as well have an “info product” next to it (similar to how I have Euro Top Tech and it’s guides / private newsletter section)
4 is because apparently what people like from my content on X is about remote setups, since X has a lot of remote workers/founders vs LinkedIn being more corporate-oriented.
If it sounds interesting, you can easily SUBSCRIBE HERE FOR FREE.
And, if you want to lock-in the paid sub with substantial discounts, check out yesterday’s article where I talk more about that.
And, with that, I’m gonna leave you to the rest of your Sunday.
Take care! 🤍
