Singapore???
After this lady asked me to update Code Capitals to include Singapore, I went on and did that.
Result?
Not too shabby!
You can check it yourself at Code Capitals.
The reason for this is:
Pretty decent salaries: mid/high European standards (less than Zurich or London; similar to Germany).
Quite low taxes: basically flat 18% tax; that’s why it performs better at higher levels, because other locations increase their taxes the higher the salaries.
Cost of Living: not low. London levels.
All in all, it looks like a pretty good option tbh.
Also, Singapore has quite a good presence of quality tech companies.
Big Tiktok/ByteDance presence, some Stripe, Palantir, Google, Meta and LinkedIn - among others.
Also, a good presence of HFT firms like Jane Street and Jump Trading (very high-paying).
Immigration!
Singapore is for sure easier to immigrate to for Indians, than the US and even Europe.
Also, English is well spoken, and it’s closer to Asia - so as an Asian, you’ll be closer to family.
Standard of living is top-notch. Singapore is basically the Switzerland of Asia.
It’s also a great place to do business.
Arguably, Asia is on a better trajectory than Europe or the US, so you’ll be in a steadily-growing region: growth is important, the more the environment around you is growing, the more opportunities it will bring (that’s one of the reasons why in Europe I tend to like Central Europe more than Western Europe).
Also for Europeans?
I think Singapore can also be an interesting place for Europeans.
Because you won’t have a standard of living downgrade, that you would have - in some regards - by going to the US.
I know some Europeans are curious about Asia (I know I was/am), and having a high-paying opportunity to go there, would mean getting to visit this place without any career or financial downsides.
Moreover, I think it’s much much easier to immigrate to Singapore than it is to the US, for a European.
Should I add it to Euro Top Tech Jobs?
On Euro Top Tech Jobs, I’m now tracking EMEA roles - including Dubai for example - in addition to fully-remote companies.
I feel like it wouldn’t hurt to add Singapore.
But let me know if you want that.
If I receive a high enough interest (from paying subscribers) I will prioritise it.
Otherwise I won’t do it just now (assuming people don’t care - or even would prefer me not to do it in order to not “pollute” the job board).
Opportunity for Frontend devs
Netflix Warsaw is consistently hiring for UI/FE devs, at various seniority levels.
I think this can be a great office for devs in Europe, I expect TC range to be $80-120k for junior/mid-level devs and $150+ for senior folks.
It’s also the only tech office for Netflix in Europe, with Netflix being a top tech company to work for for sure.
Another tech company that has the only tech office in Warsaw is Waymo.

For now, let me just recommend you to add people on LinkedIn working jobs that you’d like to get for yourself.
Aim to have at least 500 connections on LinkedIn.
Ideally, more than 800.
In the private guide I’ll be sending next week, I’m gonna dive deeper into why this is effective.
Here are some other resources:

Senior devs in London able to save 128k a year while living a comfortable lifestyle!?
A decent take home pay for a senior dev in London is $150k and you aren’t living a comfortable lifestyle on the remaining 22k…
Ive been in singapore for more than 5+ years. No doubt Singapore is a great place to live and work. But This is exactly right what you mentioned, for example immigration or getting work visa is harder for anyone even with skills, as they introduced point based system, you have to meet those points. So it depends case by case.
