Nostalgia edition!
As you can see from this email title, that’s week 24 of me running eurotoptechjobs.com.
First off, that’s quite a crazy number! It basically means that I’ve been running it for 5 and a half months now, which is a lot.
We’ve come a long way since then, and I’m exited to soon share some cool things I’ve been working on recently.
Today’s edition will be a tribute to how this thing originally started :)
Initially, I used to send a weekly analytics update about the open jobs in the main job board - the part of the job board with the big/top-paying jobs in Europe, which is different from the one with the fully-remote roles.
For an example, you can check the weekly report article from week 2 ^^

Commentary
Top companies
Oracle has had a bull run recently, thus the many open positions.
I’ve worked there myself and I have seen a really competitive company: people are skilled, very technical, they’re working on cutting-edge and business critical products and services. They also pay well! Definitely should be on your map if it isn’t already.
Datadog’s numbers are inflated by the fact that they post the same positions multiple times due to the fact that they hire country-remote people from many EU countries. Although, they’re also doing great and in general it’s a very well positioned companies.
Microsoft numbers are also a bit inflated for the same reasons, but less.
Databricks is also back at hiring in full swing, running the bull AI market.
Top locations
Poland is stably the 2nd/3rd country in Europe for number of top tech jobs openings, and noone is taking them away from there.
Dublin has also seen a steady rise in job openings. I think it’s fair to say it’s a very attractive place for top devs nowadays - especially for those targeting big tech and not interested in remote work.
UK/London is still the main hub in Europe for tech jobs, and you can leverage both London’s top-paying onsite job and the other high-paying UK-remote ones (which aren’t too few either).
“Modern considerations”
While London and Dublin are great options because of the number of top-paying tech jobs they offer, IMO places like Poland or Switzerland can be more attractive because:
Offer “better economics” in general: purchasing power in Poland for devs is the highest in Europe - maybe even highest in the world - while saving rates in Switzerland are the highest in Europe and among the highest in the world.
They have lower taxes and are therefore more attractive for remote workers: in both countries, if you’re working as a remote freelancer, you can easily get your effective tax rate to under 10-15% - which you can’t do in UK/Ireland AFAIK.
They have better life quality, which can also be attractive if you’re either an onsite or remote worker: Poland is very affordable and safe while having bustling large cities; Switzerland is very stable, and has top infrastructure and services.
What about high-paying remote jobs?
They keep going strong and are mostly from younger and well-funded startups (such as these ones).
One thing I’ve noticed while researching such companies, is that about 50-70% of them are LLM/AI startups.
So, if your goal is to be a high-paid remote tech worker, you might be interested in these 2 articles on the role of the AI Engineer:
That said, there are also more traditional “internet”/web companies committed to remote work that pay high salaries (although mostly location-adjusted), and you can check this great list from
