Which country is WINNING for availability of top TECH jobs in Europe?
It’s 2: Poland and Spain.
Surprised?
Here's the list of the top 10 countries by number of open positions on EuroTopTechJobs.com:
United Kingdom: 702 jobs
Poland: 603 jobs
Spain: 397 jobs
Netherlands: 169 jobs
Germany: 128 jobs
Sweden: 127 jobs
Ireland: 124 jobs
France: 121 jobs
Switzerland: 102 jobs
Romania: 84 jobs
Yes UK is first, but that's not a surprise, is it?
About 70% of these UK roles are in London, which is the city in Europe with the most tech opportunities (since decades).
Poland 2nd in the list with almost the same amount of roles as the UK is pretty huge.
Not surprising in itself given the many opportunities in Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Poland country-remote roles etc.
But the scale of it - i.e. number of jobs compared to other countries - kinda is.
Alone, it has more roles than Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy COMBINED.
Software is the future of business, and Poland is the future of Europe.
Spain is the real surprise here though!
I'm not exactly sure how they pulled it off to attract so much investment from top tech companies, but kudos to my amigos and amigas! 🍻 🇪🇸
Salary numbers
The salaries in high-paying tech companies in both locations are not low in 2025:
Senior engineers making $120-150k
Staff engineers making $170k+
Juniors making $70k+
They're much higher than the average salaries, and they give great purchasing power.
The cost of living is lower than Western Europe, much lower than in the US.
Tax rates are between 20% and 35% (according to EuroTechMoney.com), depending on the type of contract and salary level.
Life quality is great: generally safe, great weather, great food, lots of culture, good infrastructure and public services.
And, as mentioned above, they have many more open jobs in top-paying tech companies than other European countries.
Spain + Poland (together) have more roles than:
Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Romania, Portugal, Denmark, Estonia, Norway, Austria, Belgium, Lithuania, Finland and Italy
COMBINED
If you want to enter big tech or some high-paying startup, adding Spain and Poland to your radar will make your life 10x easier.
Other than that…
Zurich can be good if you're top deep/ML tech talent.
Germany, UK, Netherlands, Ireland, France, Romania and Sweden are decent options 👍
For remote roles, the entire Central Europe area is good, as well as some Southern European countries.
