Salary Transparency for Devs in Europe
Crowdsourced data on before and after tax salaries and saving rates for devs in Europe.
Hey everyone!
I just made a Google Form for devs in Europe to share their:
- Total Comp pre-tax
- Total Comp after-tax
- Yearly Saving Rate (money retained from the net comp after life expenses)
- Location (city/country)
- Number of kids/dependants
- Lifestyle
- Percentage contribution of the total household TC
See the results here!
I recommend adding a filter: on the Google Sheet, click Data → Create Filter View. Then, you can sort and filter each column. Much like you’d do on this other board (which you can access and learn how to use here).
This should help us get a better understanding of the financial condition that devs in Europe have! 🙏 📈 🌍
I think salary is a bit of dry number and not that useful, considering the huge impact taxes and cost of living have on one's personal finance.
Saving rates + lifestyle and number of dependants, on the other hand, I think provide much more useful info on which jobs in which locations will actually be attractive.
Many users have already added their data. You can check the results out in this Google Sheet.
And you can add your own data through this Google Form (this will be highly appreciated, both by me and by every other developer reading this doc 🙏).
I welcome you to share this posts and/or the form as well, such that we all get more data!
