2025 Wrapped: ending my first full year as a business owner
Earnings, learnings, and what's next
helloooo
Today I’ll keep it short and to the point!
2025:
Made approx. ~70k EUR from Euro Top Tech and coaching.
Not too bad, considering that:
I’ve mostly just done things I felt like doing
Fully autonomously
Fully remotely
I’m also still figuring things out, as it was my first full year of business.
Came a long way since 2024, that’s for sure.
My coaching program didn’t even have a landing page until like 2 months ago:
the “landing” used to be this newsletter article.
And the job platform started as a Google Sheet in 2024.
It’s quite a bit less than what I used to make in the industry, or that I could make working for someone else.
But it’s also not that bad, and I like the overall lifestyle.
Moreover: I feel like I’m doing a job that is right for me, where I use many of my skills, learn a ton, and feel the impact I have on other people’s lives.
So, I’m sticking to this route. At least for now.
…What’s next?
2026 goal #1:
Grow business by 20%.
I think it’s:
1. Realistic
I’ve built a lot of things recently for Euro Top Tech: new functionality, all-encompassing website, fixed bugs, created Discord community, and more.
Coaching program now gets most clients results in 3 to 4 months, and its track record is quite impressive.
2. Rewarding
Increasing turnover by 20% would prove business stability, as well as increase cash flow.
3. Not easy
In theory, business can also go down.
So staying where it is and/or increasing it by a bit is still not guaranteed.
2026 goal #2:
Next year, alongside solidifying and growing my business, I would also like to improve my life outside of work.
Building a life that is well-rounded and balanced, while also being exciting and rewarding professionally.
I should also be a bit more diligent and disciplined with my time:
More focused work
Fewer distractions
Less noise
This should allow me to continue doing a good job and growing the business, while having time and energy for other areas of life that also need attention!
Here’s a note-to-self on this matter I published on X:
Will report on how it goes :D
Final Note / PS
<<I ended up right where I started… I could still make money for people back home, and why mess up a good thing?>>
Re-watched Casino (1995) the other day.
One of the things that helps me most put things into perspective in life, is watching gangster movies where De Niro does “the right thing”.
And, most importantly, doesn’t do the stupid, ego-fuelled one.
Ambition is a good thing: striving for more.
But there’s also beauty in satiety.
For sure there’s more peace.
My perspective at the end of the day is that peace comes first, and hunger can be used to build stuff that fosters and protects peace.
But if hungrily chasing for more is all you end up doing…
Then I think it’s a bit pointless.
It can also be dangerous.
That’s just my perspective, anyway.
I still think it’s important to give your talents a chance to materialise into something, and not waste them.
So in the end I guess it’s a balance.
Great movie!
