Euro Top Tech - #11 (biggest coaching result thus far)
Coaching client 4x'ing his salary, best countries for infra/happiness, CV reviews, and more.
Good morning!
Hope you had a good weekend :)
I spent it chilling in the Zurich’s forests - that’s why I’m writing the ETT update just now ^^
Btw, check out my ig here for visual type of content like this.
Taking a bit of a break
Is something I should do more often.
I often work on weekends, at least partially.
But, after having spent the entire 2025 working pretty much every day, for the next year I’ll try to build a bit more of a sustainable routine.
Which includes some holidays, some weekend days off, and limiting the amount of “stressors” like pre-breakfast and after-dinner screen usage, poor sleep, compulsive social media use, and so on.
Not really feeling burnt out, but could use some refreshment 😄
Biggest coaching result since I started
Hard work pays off though.
The guy I mentioned 2 weeks ago, who was undergoing an interview for a $150-200k remote role, got the job 🎉🎉
And the result is actually quite insane.
Now, I don’t want to reveal too much about him and the company yet, so he can stay private until he’s joined and passed the probation.
But don’t worry: you’ll definitely see a more in-depth analysis of his case in the future ;)
(maybe an entire video like this one I got with my first coaching client)
Why this result is insane:
It took this client 3 months to QUADRUPLE his salary (it was X, and it’s now 4*X)
We did everything together and we agree that the coaching for him was career-changing
Here’s what we did in more details:
1. Brainstormed his profile and the market
He has a bit of a peculiar profile, with good potential but not necessarily “easy to place”.
I highlighted to him some interesting and lucrative market verticals he was not aware of → we dived deeper → he got offers / close to offers → backtracked as he discovered he wanted remote.
This reminded me of this other client xD
Anyway, then we looked for verticals that were feasible among high-paying remote companies, for his profile.
2. We shortlisted some companies
The most promising ones were from Euro Top Tech, including the one where he got the offer!!
3. Did the obvious work
CV, LinkedIn, general interview prep, learning about networking, etc
4. Helped him network and apply with referral
The position he applied to was super competitive, but somehow he managed to land an interview, thanks to his all-in-all solid profile, LinkedIn and good networking.
I helped him reach out to people, reviewing and tutoring him in the 1:1 LinkedIn DM phase with the person that ended up referring him.
5. Helped him with the custom interview prep
When you’re dealing with high-paying remote companies, you can’t just bank on doing LeetCode and System Design prep and hope for the best.
You need to scrape the internet and ask current employees for their interview process, and prepare based on that, managing your time wisely (you need to know what to prioritise).
You also need to know how to study the profile of the interviewers such that you can invest some hours preparing for topics that you think they are likely to touch given their background.
This is not just technical stuff, but also tangential stuff like academic work, geographical/biographical matters, etc.
Result: Offer in 3 months since he joined the coaching program
This gotta be my best coaching result so far:
The result is massive (4x salary)
The flexibility/lifestyle improvement is unmatched (fully-remote offer)
The time is short (3 months to land the offer since joining)
I was instrumental in every step
He got the job from ETT
It’s gonna be hard to do better than this xD
Reflections
This is quite a big confidence boost for my services.
I’ve never been too shy about it, but since this coaching thing was a new job for me (started it just 1.5 years ago), I kept it humble.
I genuinely didn’t have a big enough track record to be saying “if you are good, I can 100% get you a result in X months”.
I know I researched certain topics in depth.
I knew how to apply this knowledge.
I experimented with it in my own tech career, achieving a lot of big results without being a tech genius.
I had experience teaching and dealing with people (sailing when I was young, math/physics tutor in uni, good collaboration skills at work)
My insights and knowledge had been validated by massive success on LinkedIn and expansion of this newsletter
But I didn’t know if I could help other people get top jobs reliably.
Now, I can quite confidently say:
If you’re good and you can work hard, I’ll help you get the best job you can on the market in less than 6 months.
In the past 9 to 12 months, I haven’t missed a single shot, basically.
Everyone who came into the program and showed skills and work ethic, got the result (often, even in much less than 6 months).
No exceptions.
The ones who didn’t get it, I started to know after just 2 or 3 weeks since they joined.
Usually, when it’s like this, I tell the client: “What you did so far is not quite enough. If you want to get the result in less than 6 months, something here needs to change”.
Some people exit just after one month, after I tell them that. No hard feelings.
They didn’t give me too much money (the program is subscription based, and you pay month by month), they learnt quite a few things anyway, they often stick around in Euro Top Tech community.
Before applying, though, ask yourself: “how many hours of real work can I dedicate to the program each week?”
This guy who got this exceptional result, worked 20+ hours per week on the program, while having a full-time job.
He knew he could put in such work: he also highlighted it in the application.
If you can’t put at least 10 hours per week, don’t apply: you’re not gonna get a 100k+ job in Europe without that effort. No shame in that, but don’t buy into a delusion.
Even this client, after 3 months, felt tired (but: got the offer :)).
The above guy who got the 2 onsite big tech offers and turned them down to keep looking for a remote role, hasn’t yet landed the remote role, and is now feeling somewhat exhausted.
Had he stayed in the coaching program longer, I think he’d have landed a role by now 🙊.
But still: it can happen.
You might end up doing a lot of work and not get a job.
It happened to me for sure.
Then your only options is to take some time to recharge and then try again.
There's no shame in that, and life/career is long, so it’s OK to fail for a few years, while trying to level up.
If you’re interested in the coaching program, check out this page.
Now, it’s a good time to start looking for a role, as mentioned last week, and as shown here too.
I’m also a little bit booked. Not quite overbooked yet, but getting there: what this means is that I can probably squeeze in another 1 or 2 people to start in January/February. Applicants in addition to that, probably I’ll have to put them on waiting list for a few months (nothing tragic or too long, I’m just saying this as if you want to join very soon, then it’s better to apply today; otherwise, it’s fine to apply in a few months too).
Crowdsourced Data for Euro Top Tech
I.e. this thing (originally called “Euro Tech Money”):
But now just present at https://www.eurotoptech.com/crowdsourced-data
Some news here too!
In particular, I added a page for Happiness and Infrastructure

And by city:
Contribute here if you haven’t already.
The usual disappointment about Italy
It is what it is.
I’ll comment on the other results in another newsletter, add your data (anonymously) in the meantime!
Euro Top Tech Community
Keeps being fun!
A good low-cost option for people who want to accelerate their career and/or network with people without having to drop the money of the coaching program.
You can still get some nice CV reviews like this one:
Can’t guarantee I’ll keep doing them forever, but for now it’s feasible to do it every now and then. Anyway, you’ll still be able to check the past reviews on the other people’s CVs once you join.
As well as hearing about things like this
Or being there for when we’ll start organising IRL meet-ups in various European cities in the coming weeks/months :)
That’s all for this update folks!
Have a great start of the week ☀️
