Hi folks
Before we start with this week’s ETT (Euro Top Tech) Update, let’s do a quick recap of what to expect from this newsletter going forward.
[skip / scroll-down if you don’t care about this operational update/news]
In the past, I’ve:
Shared one article per week where I share some research, data or thoughts I’ve had around working in tech in Europe - usually on Friday/Saturday
Since I launched Euro Top Tech Jobs, one article per week sharing the updates on my business journey: job board, coaching program, free tools and anything related to that - usually on Saturday/Sunday
You might have noticed that in the past few weeks things have been a bit more erratic:
Articles coming out early in the week instead on the fixed dates
Skipping articles every now and then
I don’t really have an explanation. In the end I think I don’t need to stick to a strict schedule regarding posting. Let me know if you value that or don’t care.
My plan now would be to:
Roughly post one article of each type each week, usually towards end of the week / beginning of the next week (2 articles / week in total)
If I don’t have a good article ready, I’ll skip the week (for either The European Engineer articles or ETT Updates articles)
This week for instance I skipped the TEE article. But next week you should a more meaty/well-prepped one :)
Let me know if this more “creative” schedule is ok for you or if you prefer specific dates/times in which to receive articles.
Here are 5 new JUICY companies paying $100k-$400k for fully-remote devs:
If you want to know about other companies in this category, Euro Top Tech lists thousand jobs from 100+ such companies.
It also tracks thousand top-paying onsite, hybrid and country-remote jobs. In Europe.
It also provides data regarding compensation and saving rates.
Euro Top Tech Update
Last week I shared how I added a tech/language filter box to enhance job searching on the job board. I also mentioned how many jobs in the fully-remote page didn’t have a description so they couldn’t be filtered well by this new functionality.
I’ve managed to add a description for most jobs in the job board now (if you’re a customer, let me know if you find companies/jobs without job description).
I need to improve the formatting a bit in some cases, but the text for search should be there now.
This week I’ll probably ship a bit less, but you should expect further improvements over the coming 10/15 days. Probably:
Enhance seniority classification (thinking of using AI to classify that based on job description)
Cleanup a bit city classification in the onsite/hybrid/country-remote job page, since there’s a bit too many random small/wrong cities results
Expand coverage outside of Europe for the fully-remote jobs: many of my customers are outside of Europe - likely considering moving here. In the fully-remote jobs page, there’s already thousands of jobs that can be done outside of Europe, but in some cases I’m filtering out companies if they’re not hiring in Europe. I’m planning to lift those and list all these remote jobs worldwide (then you can use the location filter to filter out the ones outside of your geography).
Will be checking out France soon
Expect a “France for Software Engineers” guide over the coming weeks!
I’ve started posting on X/Twitter (again)
I tried it out some time ago but didn’t really work.
Now I’m trying it out again.
Feel free to follow and support my work there if you want 🙏
Will be sharing more random stuff like this
Or some build in public / founder stuff like this
Here’s my X profile
Have a great week y’all!!
